Deepak Ponmudi is a Classical Guitarist from India, who is very passionate about Western Classical music. He initially started learning in Chennai, India under Mrs. Ahlauyu SV Naiud and then moved to Bangalore to study under Mr.Poireinganba Thangjam. There he completed his grades and got certified from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), London, UK. Then he continued his studies with Mr.Mehdi Kosharvani, a Vienna based guitarist and at present he is pursuing his education from Mr. John Paul from Indonesia and Grand Maestro Lucio Matarazzo from Italy. He participated in the 2018 Calcutta International classical guitar festival and competition and won the first prize in the open category.


He was awarded a full scholarship to participate at the Cordoba Guitar festival in Spain and learn from the great masters like Leo Brouwer, Manuel Barrueco, David Rusell, Margarita Escarpa, Ricardo Gallen to name a few.


Deepak Ponmudi also performs actively, his first performance was in the prestigious Grand Melia Hotel in Madrid, Spain. His repertoire is very extensive with music ranging from baroque to modern contemporary music.



Deepak endorses Alhambra guitars. The finest guitar makers from Spain.  At present he uses the 7P model with Cedar Top.
